Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks, including vehicles, to transport goods over short and long distances
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company policies and road regulations
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to maintain safety standards and report any issues promptly
- Load and unload cargo with care, ensuring proper securing of loads to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and vehicle maintenance records
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any incidents during transit
- Adhere to all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies to promote a safe working environment for yourself and others
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with loads or similar cargo types
- Delivery driver experience demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for heavy vehicle operation
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and handle minor maintenance checks
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends as needed
