Job Summary
We help thousands of customers who either aren't connected to the mains due to rural location, or for other reasons are not best served by being on mains water supply, e.g. agricultural, commercial and domestic sites. We are seeking either an experienced or a trainee Private Water Supplies Engineer to join our team on a self-employed basis. In this role, you would eventually be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting water-related systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. The job involves driving all over the SW so a clean license is essential, based from Bude. A work van is supplied. The role involves being out in all weathers, troubleshooting plumbing or electrical issues, or servicing systems to prevent them.
Qualifications in plumbing or electrics are not essential, however pay would depend on previous experience of working with these. This position offers an exciting opportunity to either learn, or apply, your technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and electrical systems in and around the SW.
- Conduct inspections of water supply systems, filters, pumps, valves, and electrical wiring to identify issues
- Use hand tools and power tools as needed
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling equipment or materials during installation or repairs
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot system failures and implement effective solutions promptly
Qualifications
- Proven experience with plumbing systems including piping, fixtures, valves, and drainage solutions is valued
- Skilled in electrical work related to water systems such as wiring pumps, sensors, and control panels, or
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to water systems and electrical components
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to system design or repairs
- Ability to operate a commercial vehicle for transportation of materials or equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety standards
- Digger driving experience a bonus, along with forklift ticket
- You will need to be physically fit to carry out this role

Other
You must be able to work as part of an informal team, but also be trustworthy working on your own. Must be willing to help cover some weekends on a rota when trained. Pay is negotiable and dependant on experience.
Pay: From £16.00 per hour
