Job Title: Materials & Logistics Technician

Department: Operations / Field Support
Reports To: Project Coordinator

Job Summary

The Materials & Logistics Technician is responsible for managing materials, tools, and logistical support for drywall and acoustical ceiling (ACT) projects. This role ensures job sites are properly stocked, organized, and ready for crews to work efficiently, and that tools and materials are accounted for before, during, and after each project. The Materials & Logistics Technician will also handle occasional pickups and deliveries, maintain accurate inventory records, and manage tool tracking systems such as Hilti ON!Track.

Key Responsibilities

Materials & Inventory Management

- Track, organize, and maintain inventory of drywall, ACT materials, fasteners, and job-specific supplies

- Coordinate material pickups and deliveries from suppliers and warehouses

- Ensure materials are staged and delivered to job sites as needed

- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or reordering needs

Tool Management

- Manage company tools and equipment, ensuring they are available, well maintained, and job-ready.

- Use of Hilti ON!Track to track tool assignments, locations, and conditions.

- Issue tools to crews and collect them at project completion.

- Identify missing, damaged, or malfunctioning tools and report as needed.

Job Site Setup & Breakdown

- Prepare job sites before crews arrive, including delivering materials, tools, and equipment

- Ensure job sites are organized, safe, and properly stocked for daily work

- Break down job sites upon completion, collecting tools, excess materials, and debris as directed

- Return reusable materials and tools to storage or warehouse locations

Warehouse & Yard Organization

- Maintain the company laydown area (semi-trailer and small yard) used to store job boxes, trash carts, dollies, and related equipment

- Keep the laydown area highly organized and secured at all times, with tools and equipment properly stored when not in use

- Monitor access to the laydown area and promptly report any missing, damaged, or unsecured equipment

Logistics & Transportation

- Drive company vehicles to transport materials, tools, and equipment

- Load and unload materials safely and efficiently

- Operate heavy equipment, including flatbed trucks and forklifts, to load, transport, and stage materials

- Perform basic vehicle checks and report maintenance needs

- Maintain the assigned company truck in clean, safe, and good working condition

Coordination & Communication

- Work closely with project managers, foremen, and superintendents to understand job requirements

- Communicate schedule changes, material needs, or issues promptly

- Assist field crews as needed to keep projects running smoothly

- Perform other tasks and ancillary duties as directed by management

Qualifications & Skills

- Experience in construction, drywall, ACT, warehouse, or material handling preferred

- Familiarity with construction tools and materials (drywall, framing, ACT systems)

- Experience with inventory or asset-tracking systems (Hilti ON!Track preferred)

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, CDL preferred

- Comfortable and experienced operating heavy equipment, including flatbed trucks and forklifts

- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50–75 lbs.)

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple job sites

- Moderate smartphone or tablet proficiency for tracking systems and communication

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

- Frequent travel between warehouse, suppliers, and job sites

- Outdoor and indoor construction environments

- Regular lifting, carrying, bending, and standing

- Occasional early mornings or extended hours to meet job schedules

Employment Contingency

Offers of employment for this position are contingent upon successful completion of a motor vehicle record (MVR) check confirming a clean driving history, as well as a background check, per Annapurna Construction HR policy.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
