United Robots is a technology company developing autonomous mobile robots for industrial facilities, warehouses, and logistics centres. We create complete solutions encompassing electronics, control systems, autonomous navigation, sensor integration, robot software, and a cloud platform for managing fleets of devices.
QA, Code Quality & CI/CD Expert
We are looking for a specialist who will be responsible for developing and enforcing software quality standards and improving the processes used to develop, test, deploy, and update software running on our robots.
Responsibilities
-
Overseeing and maintaining high code quality standards and software development practices;
-
Defining and enforcing software engineering standards for teams working on robotic systems, backend applications, and supporting tools;
-
Designing processes for code reviews, change approvals, and release management;
-
Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines;
-
Automating software compilation, testing, validation, and deployment;
-
Implementing unit, integration, system, regression, and hardware–software integration tests;
-
Defining quality criteria and release gates for new software versions;
-
Implementing and developing tools for static code analysis, dependency management, bug detection, and security vulnerability scanning;
-
Organising the container architecture and establishing rules for dividing software into appropriate, independent components;
-
Standardising the building, versioning, storage, and distribution of container images;
-
Establishing versioning rules for source code, configurations, dependencies, firmware, and complete robot software releases;
-
Developing a secure remote software update system for robots;
-
Enabling controlled deployment of updates to selected devices or groups of robots;
-
Implementing staged deployment, update rollback, and stable-version recovery mechanisms;
-
Ensuring complete change traceability—from an issue and commit to the specific software version running on an individual robot;
-
Collaborating with teams responsible for ROS/ROS 2, autonomous navigation, embedded systems, backend services, and the cloud platform;
-
Creating technical documentation, checklists, release procedures, and development standards;
-
Monitoring the quality of the software development process and initiating corrective actions;
-
Building a culture of responsibility for product quality, stability, and security across the team.
Key objectives of the role
-
Reducing the number of defects identified during commissioning and operation at customer sites;
-
Ensuring repeatable, automated, and auditable software releases;
-
Providing clear identification of the software version running on each device;
-
Enabling secure remote updates without requiring an on-site service visit each time;
-
Increasing system stability and reducing issue diagnosis time;
-
Standardising software development practices across all teams.
Requirements
-
A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience;
-
Experience in QA Automation, CI/CD, DevOps, Release Engineering, or Software Quality;
-
Very good knowledge of Git, branching strategies, pull/merge requests, tags, and releases;
-
Practical knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar;
-
Experience with Docker and container-based architectures;
-
Ability to design automated software build, testing, and publishing processes;
-
Experience in developing testing strategies and implementing automated tests;
-
Knowledge of Semantic Versioning, version management, and dependency management;
-
Good knowledge of Linux;
-
Ability to analyse software architecture and identify areas requiring standardisation;
-
Experience in creating technical documentation and procedures;
-
Independence, consistency, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams;
-
English proficiency sufficient to work confidently with technical documentation and communicate effectively in day-to-day work.
Nice to have
-
Experience with ROS or ROS 2;
-
Experience in robotics, automotive, IoT, embedded systems, or edge computing projects;
-
Knowledge of OTA updates and device fleet management systems;
-
Experience with field-deployed devices operating with intermittent connectivity;

Knowledge of A/B update systems, rollback mechanisms, and secure boot;
-
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker Compose, or similar tools;
-
Knowledge of C++, Python, and Bash;
-
Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop testing;
-
Familiarity with tools for static code analysis, quality monitoring, and dependency security;
-
Experience in defining software quality metrics and reporting the technical status of a project;
-
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for cloud-connected devices.
What we offer
-
A genuine influence on the architecture and software development standards of autonomous robots;
-
The opportunity to design quality and CI/CD processes for an entire product and fleet of devices;
-
Work on solutions combining robotics, embedded systems, cloud technologies, and artificial intelligence;
-
A high degree of independence and direct cooperation with the technical team and company management;
-
The opportunity to develop standards that will scale with the growing number of robots being manufactured and deployed;
