Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate
Vanguard Commercial Flooring – Norcross, GA
Vanguard Commercial Flooring is seeking a dependable and hardworking Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate to join our warehouse team. This position plays an important role in the day-to-day operation of our warehouse by receiving incoming materials, maintaining an organized inventory, and preparing materials for our flooring installers.
The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break.
This is a full-time, daytime position with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, move, and store flooring materials throughout the warehouse.
- Unload incoming delivery trucks and verify that materials are received and stored properly.
- Organize and place incoming materials in their designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and stage materials for upcoming flooring installations.
- Load materials onto installers' vans and other company or delivery vehicles.
- Maintain an organized warehouse so materials can be located and retrieved efficiently.
- Keep pallet racks, aisles, loading areas, and workspaces clean and free of hazards.
- Assist with general warehouse cleaning and housekeeping throughout the day.
- Follow all company safety procedures while operating forklifts and handling materials.
- Help maintain a safe working environment for employees, installers, vendors, and visitors.
- Assist with other warehouse-related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift operating experience preferred.
- Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material-handling experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift around pallet racking, vehicles, and other employees.
- Ability to lift and move flooring materials and other heavy products as required.
- Strong attention to organization and detail.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
About the Position
This is a hands-on position that requires the employee to stay active throughout the workday. A successful candidate will take ownership of keeping the warehouse organized, ensuring materials are handled properly, and helping our installers get the correct materials loaded and ready for their jobs.
