Key Responsibilities:

- Design and maintain domain ontologies covering educational content, skills taxonomies, learner

models and curriculum structures.

- Define ontology standards, schema versioning and governance processes across the

knowledge platform.

- Model entities, relationships and semantic hierarchies using RDF / OWL and property-graph

representations.

- Build and maintain knowledge base construction and entity resolution pipelines from

heterogeneous data sources.

- Support GraphRAG architectures by structuring ontologies for LLM retrieval pipelines and

contextual AI responses.

- Define and enforce knowledge quality standards, including completeness checks, consistency

validation and remediation workflows.

- Work with graph database teams on query patterns, index design and performance tuning of

ontology-backed queries.

- Design semantic search capabilities that combine graph-native and vector-based hybrid

retrieval approaches.

- Collaborate with ML and product teams on graph-native features such as recommendations,

adaptive learning paths and gap detection.

- Document ontology design decisions, mapping rules and controlled vocabularies for

platform-wide adoption.

- Evaluate and evolve semantic technology standards as platform and data complexity scales.

Qualifications:

- B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech / MCA in Computer Science, Information Science or equivalent.

- 4+ years of experience in ontology engineering, knowledge representation or semantic data

modelling.

- Experience building and maintaining large-scale domain ontologies and knowledge graphs in

production environments.

Must-have skills:

- Ontology & Knowledge Modelling – Designing domain ontologies, taxonomies and semantic

hierarchies.

- RDF / OWL / SPARQL – Semantic web standards for representing, reasoning over and querying

knowledge.

- Property Graphs & Cypher – Graph-native modelling and querying with Neo4j, JanusGraph,

Apache Jena or similar.

- Knowledge Graph Construction – Entity resolution and knowledge base pipelines from

heterogeneous sources.

- Ontology Governance – Schema versioning, quality standards, consistency validation and

remediation.

- Semantic Technologies & Reasoning – Inference pipelines and graph-based data integration.

- GraphRAG & Semantic Search – Structuring ontologies for LLM retrieval and hybrid

graph-vector search.

- Problem Solving – Ability to model ambiguous domains into clean, scalable semantic

structures.
