TLDR; Davis is looking for an architect who has sized capacity across several programs, from light-industrial and logistics to residential, office and retail, and who wants to practice differently than in a traditional firm. Target experience: around 5 to 6 years.
About Davis
Davis is an AI-native real estate company accelerating early-stage development and architectural design. Today developers coordinate 4-5 fragmented stakeholders over weeks or months. Soon they'll need only one: Davis.
We turn every input that shapes a development decision into decision-ready outputs: investor-grade feasibility studies, investment analysis, and architect-certified designs, delivered in days. Every stage pairs our proprietary AI systems with expert review, so velocity never comes at the cost of reliability.
We closed a $5.5M pre-seed co-led by Heartcore Capital and Balderton Capital, with Yellow, Evantic and Entrepreneurs First, alongside angels from the founding teams of Spacemaker, Black Forest Labs, Hugging Face, Supabase, Cleo and Spore Bio. We already work with leading developers and expect to support hundreds of projects over the coming year, deepening our research, our hiring, and our coverage of the development process end to end.
The Role
Our clients come to us with a site and a capacity question, on a program that changes from one deal to the next. You are the one who answers whatever the program, and who stands behind the number in front of them.
You will run a portfolio of feasibility studies across light-industrial and logistics, residential, office, hospitality, retail and mixed-use operations. You take these projects from feasibility through schematic design.
This role sits at the meeting point of two worlds Davis is precisely working to bring together: architectural expertise and artificial intelligence. This is not a conventional architect position. It spans three complementary dimensions: guaranteeing the architectural quality and credibility of our deliverables, today generated in a matter of hours; co-producing the architectural drawings that accompany them; contributing actively to the development of our plan-generation technology.
It is an architect role whose impact reaches well beyond its own output.
The core of the role
-
Analyze local planning and zoning documents (land-use plans, development guidelines, easements) and derive project assumptions from them.
-
Set the programmatic assumptions for the program at hand, its ratios, structural grids and keys, and derive a quantified capacity.
-
Check and correct the outputs of our tools: confirm what holds up, fix what does not, and explain why.
-
Develop the project phase by phase, from a first capacity scenario through to a resolved project at schematic design.
-
Produce the graphic documents (drawings, images, diagrams) that make the project clear and compelling.
-
Arbitrate between several scenarios according to programmatic, regulatory and economic constraints.
-
Stand behind your numbers with the client, and defend them under challenge.
Contributing to the technology
-
Formalize best practice, program by program: translate ratios, structural grids and thresholds into criteria our AI teams can use.
-
Assess the model's outputs: say what is right, what is wrong, and on what grounds.
-
Work cross-functionally with the product, tech and real estate teams throughout the tool's continuous-improvement cycles.
Working as a team
-
Take part in project reviews and exchange with the other architects to improve methods and the quality of deliverables.
-
Contribute to the team's graphic standards.
What We're Looking For
-
Education: degree in architecture.
-
Experience: around 5 to 6 years. You have sized capacity yourself on at least three different programs (multi-family residential, logistics, light-industrial parks, office, hospitality or retail). Logistics or light-industrial is one of the three, as these are the programs that matter most to us. You know the ratios that govern each: clear height and loading docks in logistics and light-industrial, average area per unit and parking ratio in residential, structural grid and workstation ratio in office, area per key in hospitality.
-
Software: proficiency in Rhino and Revit is essential. AutoCAD is expected.
-
Appetite for digital tools and AI: the desire to bring them into your practice and to evolve it is essential. AI is one more tool in your hand, and drawing remains what we assess.
-
Speed and synthesis: our clients decide fast, on a number. You produce a credible, well-drawn scenario in hours, you cut to the essentials on ambiguous cases, and you know what level of detail serves the decision at each phase.
Core skills
-
Buildable capacity: connect a zoning rule to its quantified effect on a volume, and a volume to a program.
-
Programmatic versatility: move from residential to office, to logistics warehouse, to light-industrial or hospitality, and grasp the logic of each quickly.
-
Planning documents and how they apply: building envelope, height, setbacks, spacing rules, footprint, planted open ground, parking, permitted uses.
-
Site plan: siting, access, parking, water management, integration and edges.
-
Project phases, from feasibility through schematic design, and the level of detail each one requires.
-
Production of graphic documents: plans, sections and diagrams that make a capacity rationale legible to an investor.
Complementary skills
-
Rigor and a sense of synthesis, especially on ambiguous cases.
-
Information structuring: organizing what you produce so that others, human or machine, can use it.
-
Ability to work cross-functionally with the product, tech and real estate teams.
Why join Davis?
-
Take part in a genuine transformation of the real estate profession, and co-build the next generation of feasibility standards alongside a high-caliber technical team.
-
Go through a volume and a diversity of programs a traditional firm cannot offer.
-
See your work in every deliverable, and correct the tool when it gets things wrong.
-
Join a young company where methods and tools are still being built, and where your expertise shapes the way we work.
Package
-
Fixed-term or permanent contract depending on the case, to be discussed together
-
Offices in the center of Paris 2e
-
Company health insurance covered
-
Meal vouchers
-
Sports membership covered
-
50% reimbursement of public transport

Team
Mehdi (CEO) grew up in a family of architects and has lived this problem firsthand. He's a repeat founder who bootstrapped his first startup at 20, and graduated from Sciences Po and HEC Paris. Amine (CTO) is an AI researcher from École Polytechnique who worked extensively on discrete diffusion and turned down a PhD with Google DeepMind to build Davis. They started working together in July 2025 at Entrepreneur First's first European residency, a two-month lock-in in a German castle.
Today we're a team of 12: technical profiles from Polytechnique, ENS and INRIA alongside architects and deep real estate expertise.
We're small with an extremely high bar. If you want to work deeply on hard problems and see your work reach clients within days, you're the one we need.
Why We'll Win
Real estate is a $13 trillion industry that technology has largely bypassed. The professional services that feed it (design, engineering, feasibility, permitting) represent hundreds of billions in spend that no one has seriously automated.
Proptech spent the last decade selling SaaS on the edges of these workflows. It didn't work, for two reasons: no professional wants another tool to learn, and no tool can automate work that runs on expert judgment. Davis makes a different bet. We don't sell tools, we sell the work: AI-generated, expert-validated, delivered in days instead of weeks. Every project compounds our data advantage across typologies, geographies and regulatory contexts.
We care about who you are, not just what's on your CV.
If you're drawn to what we're building but don't meet every requirement, we still want to hear from you. Studies show that women in particular tend to apply only when they meet 100% of the criteria. If that's you, please don't let that hold you back. We'd love to receive your application.
