Basic Employee Responsibilities

Every Q2 ALS employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.

- Carrying out other tasks from time to time as assigned by a supervisor or request for assistance as needed.

Position Specific Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of Injection Mold Technicians and Operators, communicating priorities, assigning work, and supporting production requirements.

- Serve as the primary technical resource during the assigned shift, providing hands-on support, troubleshooting, and escalation of equipment, quality, safety, and production concerns.

- Perform setup, startup, troubleshooting, process adjustments, and optimization of injection molding presses, molds, auxiliary equipment, and secondary production equipment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

- Monitor machine performance, process parameters, scrap, downtime, and equipment condition; implement corrective actions to maintain product quality and production efficiency.

- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to team members to promote consistent methods, proper equipment operation, and adherence to established procedures.

- Perform routine maintenance, equipment inspections, machine adjustments, and minor repairs on molding presses and related equipment.

- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards; promptly address or escalate nonconforming or unsafe conditions.

- Complete and maintain production and quality records, including downtime, scrap, repairs, inspections, and process deviations.

- Coordinate changeovers and startup readiness with production, quality, and maintenance personnel to support efficient operations and minimize downtime.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving process stability, increasing equipment effectiveness, and enhancing product quality.

- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and support departments regarding production priorities, equipment status, quality concerns, and operational results.

- Perform additional duties and support activities as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED required.

- Experience in a pump shop, machine shop, or mechanical assembly environment preferred.

- Previous experience leading, training, mentoring, or coordinating manufacturing personnel.

- Familiarity with pump components, downhole equipment, or precision mechanical parts is an asset.

- Previous injection molding setup and operation experience is highly preferred.

- Knowledge of sucker rod manufacturing processes is an asset.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment in a production environment is considered an asset.

Physical Demands

- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the workday.

- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 65 lbs.

- Ability to work 8- 10 hour shifts.

- Exposure to elevated temperatures, moderate noise levels, and production equipment.

- Ability to safely operate equipment and use required tools.

- Must be able to wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
