Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Finance Controller to lead our financial management and reporting functions. Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and analysis of comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Oversee all aspects of corporate accounting functions such as general ledger management, account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end closing processes.
- Manage regulatory reporting requirements for governmental and non-profit entities, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and standards.
- Supervise the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software to optimize financial data accuracy, efficiency, and security.
- Conduct detailed cost accounting analysis to monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support budgeting efforts.
- Ensure effective cash management practices including treasury management, forecasting, and liquidity analysis to support organizational needs.
- Lead internal controls initiatives such as SOX compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), facilitating audits and managing risk mitigation strategies.
- Guide the finance team in technical accounting issues like revenue recognition, payroll processing, balance sheet reconciliation, and regulatory compliance accounting.
- Develop financial policies, procedures, and documentation to promote transparency and consistency across all financial activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting processes, financial analysis projects, and strategic planning initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience in senior finance or accounting roles within non-profit or governmental organizations is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, regulatory compliance accounting standards, including SOX requirements.
- Strong background in managing accounting teams with demonstrated leadership in finance team management.
- Proficiency in financial software systems such as ERP platforms or specialized accounting software; advanced Excel data analysis skills are essential.
- Deep understanding of international accounting practices combined with expertise in public sector or non-profit financial concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and financial report writing accurately under tight deadlines.
- Experience with budgeting processes, forecasting models, cash flow management, and treasury operations.
- Excellent communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and presenting findings to stakeholders at all levels.
