About Breeze
At Breeze, we believe protecting your income shouldn’t be complicated. Your income is how you build and sustain your lifestyle and when life interrupts your ability to work due to injury, illness, or unforeseen circumstances, having reliable protection matters more than ever. Breeze exists to provide a better way to buy and manage disability insurance by pairing easy-to-use technology with dedicated insurance specialists who help customers find the right coverage.
Unlike traditional carriers, Breeze operates as a broker, giving our partners access to a broad portfolio of disability insurance solutions across the market.
Full Stack Software Engineer II
Breeze is looking for a Software Engineer II to help build and maintain the systems that power our insurance products and operations. You’ll work directly with our CTO on customer-, agent-, and employee-facing applications using .NET, Angular, SQL, and Azure.
This is a hands-on full-stack role for someone who can work independently on well-defined problems and wants to grow into broader technical ownership. We do not expect you to know every part of our environment on day one. As you learn our systems and demonstrate capability, you’ll take responsibility for increasingly important parts of our technology stack.
What You’ll Do
- Build, test, and maintain frontend and backend features using Angular and .NET / ASP.NET Core.
- Design and maintain application data models, queries, and migrations using SQL and Entity Framework Core.
- Troubleshoot bugs and production issues across the application stack.
- Participate in technical design, code reviews, testing, and deployment.
- Improve the reliability, security, maintainability, and performance of our systems.
- Over time, expand your ownership into areas such as Azure, Azure DevOps and CI/CD, Cloudflare/DNS, our CMS, production operations, and third-party SaaS systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Typically 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience; demonstrated ability matters more than an exact number of years or a specific degree.
- Professional experience with C# and .NET / ASP.NET Core.
- Experience with a modern frontend framework such as Angular, React, or Vue. Angular experience is preferred but not required.
- Solid experience with relational databases, SQL, and application data modeling.
- Experience with Git, testing, code reviews, APIs, and common software engineering practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate unfamiliar systems without needing every step prescribed.
- Clear communication and a willingness to take ownership of your work.
Nice to Have
Experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, EF Core, production support, DNS/CDNs/WAFs, CMS platforms, or small engineering teams is a plus. We care more about your ability to learn and take ownership than whether you already know every tool we use.
Growth
Because our engineering team is small, you’ll have exposure to much more than application development. As you gain experience, you can take ownership of production systems, infrastructure, architecture, and technical operations, with a path toward Senior Software Engineer and broader technical leadership.
