Lion Business Advisors
Bee Cave, TX | Hybrid, Remote, or Flexible Location
$60,000–$100,000+ | Employee or Contractor

Job Overview

Lion Business Advisors is looking for an AI-focused Full-Stack Developer to help us build proprietary technology platforms for our growing M&A advisory firm.

Over the last several years, we have built and adopted tools for CRM, buyer qualification, valuations, document management, seller assessments, workflow automation, and AI.

Now we want to bring those systems together.

Our goal is a single platform where our advisors can manage the majority of the transaction lifecycle, while increasingly automating the buyer and seller experience behind the scenes.

This is not an IT support position or a traditional website developer role.

You will work directly with firm leadership to design, build, integrate, and eventually own Lion's technology ecosystem.

What You'll Help Build

Your initial focus will be integration and automation first, not rebuilding every piece of software we use.

Projects may include:

- A centralized advisor dashboard

- Google Workspace and Google Drive integrations

- Streak CRM integrations and workflow automation

- Automated buyer intake, NDA, qualification, and follow-up

- AI-powered Buyer Fit analysis

- Secure buyer and seller portals

- Automated seller activity reporting

- Valuation and financial-analysis tools

- Exit-planning and seller-readiness assessments

- Document and data-room functionality

- AI tools that analyze financials, documents, buyers, sellers, and transactions

- Internal knowledge and advisor copilots

- Technical development and integrations across Lion's websites and affiliated brands

Longer term, we will evaluate which third-party products should remain in place and which can economically be replaced with proprietary software.

Part of your job will be knowing the difference.

The First-Year Mission

Success in the first year would mean:

1. Build a functional advisor dashboard connecting the major applications and tools Lion already uses.

2. Significantly automate the buyer experience from initial inquiry through NDA, qualification, Buyer Fit analysis, CRM updates, document access, and advisor follow-up.

3. Begin building the seller-facing experience so clients can securely see approved transaction activity and statistics without advisors manually updating another system.

4. Create a technology roadmap identifying what Lion should build internally, what we should integrate, and what we should continue buying.

What You'll Own

You should expect to personally:

- Design and build applications

- Develop front-end and back-end functionality

- Build API integrations and automations

- Work with AI/LLM APIs

- Design databases and application architecture

- Build authentication and permission systems

- Deploy, test, troubleshoot, and maintain applications

- Develop secure buyer and seller portals

- Integrate Google Workspace and third-party platforms

- Maintain technical infrastructure across our websites

If specialized contractors or outside developers are needed, you may also help scope and manage their work.

What We're Looking For

We care more about what you can build and how you think than your degree, age, or number of years in the industry.

We are open to everyone from a talented recent graduate with an impressive portfolio to an experienced developer looking for greater ownership.

You may be a strong fit if you:

- Can build full-stack web applications

- Understand APIs, databases, authentication, and deployment

- Have experience using AI models or AI development tools

- Can work independently and solve ambiguous problems

- Understand the difference between a prototype and production software

- Think about user workflow, not just code

- Are comfortable learning new technologies quickly

- Can explain technical decisions in plain English

- Know when building something internally makes sense—and when it doesn't

Relevant experience may include JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, SQL, Google APIs, REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, cloud platforms, LLM APIs, RAG, document intelligence, workflow automation, or similar technologies.

You do not need to check every box.

AI Is Part of the Job

We expect our developer to use modern AI tools aggressively.

That may include OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, AI coding assistants, open-source tools, and other technologies that allow us to build better software faster.

We are not trying to build our own foundational AI model.

We want someone who knows how to use the best available technology to solve real business problems.

Security Matters

Lion handles confidential M&A transaction information, including business financials, tax returns, buyer information, NDAs, offers, and due diligence materials.

Security, permissions, authentication, confidentiality, and responsible AI data handling must be built into what we create from the beginning.

Compensation & Growth

Expected initial compensation:

$60,000–$100,000+, depending on experience, location, capabilities, and employment structure.

We are open to:

- Full-time employment

- Contractor arrangements

- Austin-area candidates

- U.S.-based remote candidates

- Nearshore or international candidates

Additional compensation may include development milestones, performance bonuses, and company-performance incentives.

Most importantly, this role is designed to grow.

Someone who successfully builds and becomes the owner of Lion's technology platform should expect their responsibilities, influence, and compensation opportunity to grow with it.

Why This Role Is Different

You won't be joining a large engineering department and maintaining one small component of an established product.

You will help build the technology infrastructure of an operating M&A advisory firm from the inside.

You will work directly with leadership, see advisors and clients use what you create, and have meaningful influence over what gets built next.

We will provide the business vision.

We need someone who can turn that vision into working technology—and who is willing to tell us when there is a better way to do it.

How to Apply

Send us:

- Your résumé or professional background.

- A GitHub, portfolio, application, or examples of things you have built, if available.

- A brief description of the most interesting application you have personally built.

- How you currently use AI in your development process.

- One example of something you would buy or integrate rather than build yourself, and why.

Please do not submit a traditional cover letter.

We expect candidates to use AI. Use whatever tools make you better, but be prepared to explain and defend anything you submit.
