Phlebotomist / Specimen Processing Technician

On Location Blood Draw Services is hiring a Phlebotomist / Specimen Processing Technician to assist with blood draws and specimen processing at multiple provider office locations in the Sarasota/Manatee area.

This is not a home-visit/mobile patient position. The employee will be assigned to work inside partner medical offices and will assist with in-office blood draws, specimen preparation, lab kit handling, and specimen processing according to each laboratory’s requirements.

We are looking for someone who is professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a provider office setting.

Duties

- Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients in provider office settings

- Collect blood specimens while maintaining patient comfort, safety, and professionalism

- Properly label, handle, process, and prepare specimens according to lab requirements

- Perform specimen processing, including centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, refrigerating, and packaging when required

- Prepare and handle specialty lab kits, requisitions, tubes, shipping materials, and specimen instructions

- Review lab orders and confirm tube types, specimen requirements, and special handling needs

- Maintain accurate documentation of collections, specimens, and processing steps

- Communicate professionally with provider office staff, patients, and On Location management

- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with infection-control and safety standards

- Travel between assigned provider office locations as needed

Experience / Qualifications

- Phlebotomy experience required

- Specimen processing experience strongly preferred

- National phlebotomy certification preferred

- Must be comfortable drawing patients of different ages and vein types

- Must understand proper order of draw, specimen labeling, tube handling, and basic processing requirements

- Must be reliable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently

- Must have strong attention to detail and be able to follow written lab instructions

- Must have reliable transportation to assigned office locations

- Experience with Labcorp, Quest, specialty lab kits, or provider office workflows is a plus

Pay: $19-22 per hour, based on experience
