We are seeking a skilled Lead ETL DataStage Consultant with expertise in development, administration, production support, and maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL processes, along with proficiency in Python and SQL scripting. Experience with Control-M, Managed File Transfer (MFT), and IBM Gentran is a plus.
This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our data integration processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand requirements and implement ETL processes using DataStage to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data manipulation and retrieval.
- Manage and configure DataStage environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to ETL processes.
- Implement security best practices for data handling and integration.
- Provide support for production processes, troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
- Monitor job logs and performance metrics to proactively identify and address potential issues. Implement incident management processes to ensure timely resolution of production incidents.
- Plan and execute regular maintenance activities, including system upgrades and patches.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards during maintenance activities.
- Document processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing.
- Utilize Python for scripting tasks related to data processing and automation. Develop and maintain SQL scripts for data validation and transformation.
- Work closely with business & technical teams & manage application support & track KPI/SLA.
