Operated by Elizabeth Andrews Catering, the Twelve Apostles Café forms the hospitality sector within the new Twelve Apostles Visitor Experience Centre on Victoria's spectacular Great Ocean Road. Welcoming more than two million visitors each year, the hospitality sector includes a 160-seat indoor café and restaurant, a 68-seat outdoor dining terrace, a premium grab-and-go café, a takeaway kiosk, Timboon ice cream bar and catering for tour groups and special events.
About the Role
As a Café Worker, you'll be one of the first friendly faces visitors meet as they explore the Great Ocean Road. Working across our café, restaurant, grab-and-go counter, ice cream bar and takeaway kiosk. You'll serve and support visitors across all areas of the front-of-house operation — taking orders, handling payments and keeping service areas clean, stocked and welcoming. You'll work closely with the wider front-of-house and kitchen teams to keep service moving smoothly, especially during peak tourism periods. Salary is $72,000 per year plus superannuation.
Key Responsibilities
As the lead of our coffee program, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional coffee and customer service while maintaining speed, consistency, and quality in a high-volume café environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Greet and serve visitors in a friendly, efficient and professional manner across the café, restaurant, takeaway kiosk, grab and go kiosk and ice cream bar.
- Take orders and operate the POS and EFTPOS systems accurately handling card payments.
- Prepare and present grab-and-go items, ice cream, snacks and beverages to presentation and quality standards.
- Prepare and serve high-quality barista made coffee beverages.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic coffee station, including milk stations, workbenches, and service areas.
- Assist with stock ordering, inventory management, stock rotation, and regular stocktakes for coffee beans, milk, syrups, takeaway packaging, and café consumables.
- Provide warm, friendly, and professional customer service to a diverse international customer base.
- Support other FOH duties, including food running, counter service, ice cream bar, and general café operations during busy periods.
- Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and collaborative approach while working as part of the wider hospitality team.
- Be flexible to work weekends, public holidays, and peak tourism periods as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 1 year minimum experience working in a high-volume hospitality venue such as a café, restaurant, hotel, or tourism operation.
- Has experience in coffee making.

- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Comfortable operating a POS sale system or willingness to learn.
- Excellent time management and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Full Australian working rights, ability to be based near the Great Ocean Road.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Food Safety or Food Handler certification.
