Thermal Engineer (m/f/d)
Your Tasks
- Conceptual design and sizing of thermal control systems, including definition of thermal concepts, hardware requirements, budgets, and identification of critical thermal areas
- Development, maintenance, and correlation of thermal models, as well as execution, verification, and assessment of thermal analyses at system and subsystem level
- Planning, preparation, and execution of thermal tests in cooperation with AIT, including test specifications, test setup (including GSE), and evaluation of test results
- Technical support to systems engineering, product assurance, AIT, and operations (e.g. LEOP, IOT, level 2 support) throughout development, integration, and operations
- Technical leadership of the thermal subsystem, including technical management of subcontractors and support of project and subcontract management
- Creation and maintenance of thermal documentation and support of review processes, bids, technical studies, and design change management (RFD/RFW, NCR)
Your Qualifications

University degree in aerospace engineering, thermodynamics, physics, or a comparable qualification
- Extensive experience in thermal design and thermal analysis of satellites and optical instruments, including confident use of thermal analysis tools
- Proven experience in defining, planning, and executing thermal tests as well as in technical management of subcontractors
- Excellent communication skills combined with strong analytical capabilities and highly developed problem solving skills
- Solid leadership experience in a technical team lead role, including work package and resource management
- Holistic, results and cost oriented mindset with a strong drive for innovation and willingness to participate in shift based thermal test campaigns
