AI Architect (m/f/x)
This is a senior position within our Software Research & Development (R&D) team, responsible for leading the design, architecture, and development of AI-integrated features and modules in LabVantage’s software products. The role requires deep expertise in cloud-native architecture, AI system design (including LLM integration, agentic workflows, and RAG), and the ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and architecture of AI-integrated product features, defining AI integration patterns, data flow architectures, and evaluation frameworks.
- Define and promote AI design patterns across the product — including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and LLM gateway integration.
- Contribute to the R&D strategy and technical roadmap, including AI adoption opportunities and responsible AI guardrails for regulated lab environments.
- Perform software product requirement analysis, design, development, unit and integration testing, and delivery, including AI-specific evaluation and regression testing.
- Conduct behavioural evaluation of AI features, contract testing for AI APIs, and regression testing of model-dependent components.
- Experience designing secure and compliant AI-enabled systems, including access controls, data protection, audit trails, data residency considerations, prompt-injection mitigation, and human-in-the-loop controls.
- Proven software architecture experience designing modular, secure, scalable, and resilient distributed systems, including API-first, event-driven, and service-integration patterns.
Your Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Architectural experience with agentic AI systems — LLM integration, agent orchestration, tool calling, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns.
- Working knowledge of agent interoperability standards, including Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent-to-Agent (A2A) communication.
- 8+ years of software development experience, of which at least 4+ years in a senior engineering, technical lead, or architecture role.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python, with working knowledge of at least one of Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Containerisation knowledge (Docker/Podman) and container-based deployment concepts.
- Cloud-native and distributed architecture experience, including API design and service integration patterns.
- Evaluation-driven development for AI features — behavioural evaluation, guardrails, and regression testing of model-dependent components.
Nice to Have:
- Container orchestration at scale (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Experience with cloud-native AI services (e.g. AWS Bedrock, AgentCore, or equivalent managed AI platforms).
- MLOps/LLMOps practices within a CI/CD pipeline.
We Offer:
- Salary range: €65,000 – €95,000 gross per year (annual base salary), depending on country of employment, qualifications, and experience, plus participation in our bonus plan.
