About this role
Business Unit Overview:
BlackRock Finance and Strategy (F&S) consist of professionals in disciplines such as Controllers, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Treasury, Tax, Financial Controls, Global Strategic Sourcing, Strategy, and Corporate Development. Within the Controllers’ Group, this role is part of the wider Global Corporate Consolidation & Control team which has a broad and varied remit including reporting monthly Income Statement and Balance Sheet positions, accounting for corporate transactions and repatriations, intercompany settlements, maintenance of global intercompany loans, global ownership of ARCS (a Balance Sheet verification process) and control of the general ledger & consolidation over month-end.In its day-to-day activities, the intercompany team has significant interaction with Finance teams globally, such as Legal Entity Controllers and Treasury, as well as the other Finance teams.
Purpose/Background:
This role sits within the Global Corporate Consolidation & Control team and supports the integrity of BlackRock’s intercompany accounting processes across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas. The Analyst will partner with Regional Controllers, Treasury, and Tax to ensure accurate, timely, and controlled intercompany & consolidation reporting within Oracle Cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
Intercompany Accounting & Close
Support a high-volume, multi-entity close in a fast-paced environment, directly working with the EMEA-based intercompany team (predominantly based in Edinburgh)

Verifying manual settlements for global intercompany positions.

Submitting manual settlements for payment

Preparing/posting multi-currency journals for manual settlements in line with the month-end calendar

Perform balance sheet reconciliations including responsibility for providing suitable documentation and clearing reconciling items on a timely basis

Proactively investigate and resolve intercompany breaks across the Group
Corporate Consolidation

Support the Corporate Consolidation team (based in Gurgaon) with performing group level consolidations and validations

Support maintenance and changes within the legal entity hierarchy as required

Participate in project work for the Corporate Control team to support legal entity acquisitions, restructures, rationalisations and UAT testing within the consolidation system (FCCS).
Controls & Governance
-
Provide commentary and metrics on balance sheet movements for month-end reporting purposes and senior management

Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies

Act as a point of contact and support audit requests and walkthroughs

Actively identify and remediate control gaps and process inefficiencies
Process Improvement & Automation

Identify opportunities to streamline Corporate Control & Intercompany processes across the BlackRock Group

Support automation initiatives (e.g., reconciliation tooling, template standardisation)

Utilise AI solutions for process enhancements and enhancing controls by proposing and sharing best practices

Participate in project work across the Corporate Control team, including UAT testing and supporting strategic projects
Stakeholder Management

Build relationships with other Finance teams to ensure that all stakeholders’ reporting requirements are met in a complete and timely manner

Skills/Qualifications:

Part qualified accountant or qualification through experience preferred

2–3 years of accounting experience (Ideally the successful candidate would have Financial Services or large corporate experience)

Exposure to intercompany, reconciliations, or financial close preferred

Strong Excel and data handling capability

Prior experience of working with ERP systems (such as Oracle) and AI tools is desirable
