Job Description: Data Project Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Data Project Manager
tolead and deliver data-driven transformation initiatives for our clients. Thesuccessful candidate will combine strong project management expertise withhands-on experience managing data-related projects, cross-functional deliveryteams, and senior stakeholders in a consulting or client-facing environment.
The role requires a results-driven professional who caneffectively bridge business, technology, and data teams while ensuringsuccessful project delivery, strong governance, and high levels of clientsatisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of data and analytics transformation projects.
Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria.
Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, governance structures, status reports, and delivery documentation.
Manage multiple workstreams and coordinate cross-functional teams, including business, data, technology, architecture, and operations stakeholders.
Establish effective project governance, reporting, risk management, issue resolution, and change-control processes.
Engage with senior client stakeholders to understand business objectives, communicate progress, and manage expectations.
Translate business requirements into structured project deliverables and actionable data initiatives.
Monitor project progress, budgets, resources, dependencies, quality, and delivery risks.
Facilitate project meetings, steering committees, workshops, and stakeholder reviews.
Identify delivery challenges proactively and implement appropriate mitigation and recovery plans.
Ensure alignment between business outcomes, data strategy, technology delivery, and organizational priorities.
Support user acceptance testing, implementation planning, transition activities, and post-go-live reviews.
Contribute to project proposals, statements of work, solution presentations, estimates, and client pursuits.
Support presales activities, including discovery workshops, proposal development, delivery approach definition, and effort estimation.
Promote consistent project management practices, standards, and lessons learned across engagements.
Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with organizational processes, quality standards, and client requirements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of
5 years of project management experience
.
At least
3 years of experience managing data-related, data transformation, analytics, or technology projects
.
Experience managing projects in a consulting, systems integration, technology services, or client delivery environment.
Proven experience managing project governance, stakeholder communication, risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery reporting.
Strong experience coordinating multiple workstreams and cross-functional delivery teams.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and client-facing communication skills.
Strong problem-solving, planning, prioritization, and decision-making abilities.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects in fast-paced and changing environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with a
Tier 1 technology consulting or professional services firm
.
Experience delivering projects involving data platforms, data migration, data governance, data quality, business intelligence, reporting, analytics, or cloud data transformation.
Experience supporting presales activities, proposal development, statements of work, or client pursuits.
Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, hybrid, or scaled delivery methodologies.
Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, SAFe, or equivalent.
Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, or equivalent.
Understanding of data governance, data architecture, data privacy, data quality, and analytics delivery concepts.
