We have an opening in our Supply Chain Department for a Purchasing Manager.

Introduction:

The Purchasing Manager role will oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and management of all procurement activities, ensuring the timely acquisition of quality materials and services so our production lines are consistently supplied with the necessary components to meet our production goals. This position reports to the V.P. Supply Chain.

A qualified candidate will be able to meet the following responsibilities and to demonstrate the requirements:

Responsibilities:

- Manage Purchasing team of four Buyers and ensure effective Purchasing operations including completing any aspect of purchasing operations

- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for both materials and services including effectively managing risks of supply chain disruptions, including make / buy decisions, keeping abreast of market conditions, and continuous improvement initiatives

- Identify strategic sourcing opportunities including selection and review of suppliers with limited travel to supplier manufacturing sites as part of quality audit team

- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery conditions while ensuring compliance with industry regulations such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

- Manage key supplier relationships to ensure supplier compliance, quality, and performance, through effective supplier management practices

- Coordinate and collaborate with other departments to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material and production flow, cost analysis, and strategic product pricing

- Maintain, improve, and ensure compliance with an effective set of policies and procedures governing all material requisitioning, purchasing, inbound logistics, and chemical usage (including EPA related items)

Requirements:

- Proven experience in manufacturing procurement management with a strong background in negotiation, contract / vendor / project management, and strategic sourcing

- Extensive knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and purchasing, inventory control, and inventory management methodologies

- Excellent ability to communicate with peers and management at all levels of the organization, develop supplier relationships, and lead cross functional teams

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, conduct root cause analysis for procurement issues, and implement corrective actions

- Familiarity with procurement regulatory frameworks that include Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) preferred

- Knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS core structure and quality management principles.

- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field and 7+ years of purchasing management experience or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment. MBA preferred.

- CPIM/CPP certification a plus.

Salary Range:

- $50 - $80 per hour
