Senior Software Developer — Job Description

Position: Senior Software Developer (Full Stack)

Level: Senior / Lead

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will take ownership of designing, developing, and scaling full-stack web applications using modern technologies such as React.js and Node.js, while also contributing to backend systems built with Java.

You will play a key role in architectural decisions, mentor junior developers, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using React.js and Node.js

- Architect and implement robust backend services and APIs (Node.js or Java-based systems)

- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to system architecture decisions

- Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and reliability

- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices

- Mentor and guide junior developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce coding standards

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

- Optimize database interactions and design efficient data models (SQL/NoSQL)

- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues across the stack

- Drive adoption of modern development practices (CI/CD, testing, DevOps, etc.)

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

- 12+ years of professional experience in full-stack development

- Strong expertise in React.js for building scalable and responsive UI applications

- Solid experience with Node.js and RESTful API development

- Familiarity with Java enterprise frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot)

- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns and design principles

- Experience with database design and management (SQL and/or NoSQL)

- Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and collaborative workflows

- Experience with API design, microservices architecture, and system integration

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

- Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Nice to Have

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

- Experience with performance optimization and monitoring tools

- Exposure to event-driven architectures and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ)

- Understanding of security best practices (authentication, authorization, OWASP)

- Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Cypress, etc.)

Prior experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
