Manufacturing Engineer

Air Systems Components (ASC), a business segment of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Ponca City, OK facility.

ASC is a leading manufacturer of air distribution and control products serving commercial, industrial, and institutional markets throughout North America. Our Ponca City facility is a key manufacturing operation within the ASC network and is currently focused on accelerating operational performance through continuous improvement, reliability enhancements, productivity gains, and manufacturing excellence. The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in supporting production operations by driving process improvements, optimizing manufacturing workflows, improving product quality, and implementing sustainable solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and profitability. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possess a hands-on approach to problem-solving, data analysis, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

- Lead process improvement initiatives focused on increasing productivity, reducing waste, improving quality, and enhancing operational performance across fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing operations.

- Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Product Engineering teams to support new product introductions, engineering changes, and manufacturing optimization efforts.

- Develop, maintain, and improve work instructions, manufacturing processes, routings, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address production, quality, and process-related challenges.

- Utilize manufacturing data and performance metrics to identify trends, improve throughput, and support fact-based decision-making.

- Support facility turnaround initiatives through labor optimization, workflow improvements, capacity planning, and cost-reduction projects.

- Perform time studies, labor analyses, line balancing, and capacity assessments to improve efficiency and resource utilization.

- Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Complete PFMEAs and apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to improve product quality and reduce manufacturing complexity.

- Support equipment selection, tooling development, plant layout improvements, and capital project implementation.

- Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations teams to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards across manufacturing processes.

What We're Looking For

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

- 2+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.

- Experience supporting fabrication, metalworking, assembly, industrial manufacturing, or related production operations.

- Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) methodologies.

- Experience developing and utilizing PFMEAs.

- Experience conducting time studies, labor analysis, and process optimization activities.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement sustainable solutions.

- Experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.

- Experience working with ERP or MRP systems.

- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a turnaround, transformation, or operational improvement environment.

- Manufacturing experience within HVAC, building products, sheet metal fabrication, industrial equipment, or related industries.

- Familiarity with automation, robotics, CNC equipment, welding, fabrication, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and documentation requirements.

- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification.

- Experience supporting capital projects, plant expansions, or facility upgrades.

- Understanding of OEE, throughput analysis, capacity planning, and manufacturing KPI management.

Work Environment

This role is based primarily within a manufacturing facility environment and requires regular interaction with production equipment, fabrication machinery, material handling equipment, and manufacturing personnel. The position includes frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the plant. Exposure to industrial noise, welding operations, powered industrial vehicles, and manufacturing processes should be expected.
