Job Responsibilities
Carry out machine setup and production runs on CNC machines in accordance with instructions from the Line Leader, including 5S housekeeping and any other tasks required to support daily operations
Identify and work exclusively with the latest approved part drawings and engineering documents at all times
Verify and ensure the correct material and inputs are used based on the Process Traveler
Select the appropriate tools, tool lengths, and tool holders, and retrieve the correct fixtures from the fixture rack in accordance with the Tool List
Upload and operate only the latest approved CNC programme on the machine based on the Tool List
Adhere strictly to all written instructions outlined in the Setup Sheet
Operate CNC machines with precision and care to prevent collisions and equipment damage
Accurately complete all relevant fields in engineering documents including the Process Traveler and Inspection Plan
Submit parts to the QA team for in-process inspection based on AQL 4% sampling; continue production upon passing or escalate to the Line Leader upon failure
Maintain a clean and organised workstation free from metal chips, dirt, grease, and oil
Periodically remove and return unused tools from the workstation and ensure all required tools are properly arranged for production or machine setup
Job Requirements
Minimum NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 2 years of experience in a precision machining environment is preferred
Able to read and interpret technical drawings accurately
Able to understand and follow instructions as documented in engineering documents such as Process Traveler, Process Routing, Setup Sheet, and Inspection Plan
Able to independently perform machine setup
Proficient in operating CNC machines with Fanuc Controller
Able to align and install machining fixtures and locate programme zero-points
Competent in using a range of measuring instruments including Digital/Vernier Calipers, External Micrometers, 3-Point Micrometers, Dial Indicators, Height Gauges, Surface Roughness Testers, Plug/Ring Gauges, Profile Projectors, and Smart Scope
