About Spacebands
At Spacebands, we’re building technology that keeps people safe. Our wearable devices help high-risk workplaces monitor hazards and worker wellbeing in real time, preventing injuries/accidents before they happen. Primarily, we focus on reducing occupational exposure of noise, vibration and proximity-based hazards.
We’re a small, ambitious startup backed by multiple VCs, with funding secured and strong commercial traction in the market. This means we’re in a stable position to grow organically, without relying on immediate further fundraising.
Our team works across hardware, firmware, software, and AI, and we’re looking for a Product Manager who thrives in a fast-moving, hands-on environment and is happy to get stuck in across the business (wearable, dashboard and mobile app).
Spacebands was initially founded to create and sell our contact tracing device during the lockdown in 2020, and delivered over 20,000 units to customers across 30 countries, attaining significant press coverage (BBC news, Sky news, ITV). This set the company up to establish itself with major clients, including the NHS, Amazon, Sony, and Panasonic. As the COVID-19 pandemic closed, we asked our customers what we should build next. The business' latest offering is centred around our health and safety wearable devices that alert staff when a hazardous event presents itself (such as a loud noise/vibration threshold warning, or an unauthorised access zone warning). Event data is then saved, so that it can later be analysed by health and safety managers from the spacebands dashboard and mobile app.
Our patent-protected wearable devices do not use WIFI, or any cellular connection (4g/5g). Instead, they host an array of sensors internally and only share data when they are placed on charge (the charging station can be connected to a local WiFi network). Spacebands is a ‘big brother’ tracking device; but rather, a device that's only purpose is to ensure that people are kept safe at work.
