We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver / General Laborer to join our metal fabrication team. This position is primarily focused on making local deliveries and pickups of materials, fabricated parts, and customer orders while assisting with shop operations when deliveries are not scheduled.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a clean driving record, and a willingness to support a fast-paced environment. While driving is the primary responsibility, candidates with fabrication experience or a desire to learn additional shop skills are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up materials, fabricated parts, and customer orders.
- Load, unload, secure, and transport products and raw materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Verify delivery paperwork, packing slips, and customer orders for accuracy.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, packaging, and material handling activities.
- Support shop operations with general labor tasks as needed.
- Assist fabrication personnel with production-related tasks during downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate trucks, trailers, and company vehicles.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
- Strong attendance, reliability, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to maintain and support 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) by keeping vehicles, tools, workstations, and shop areas clean, organized, and efficient.
