Position: Strategic Policy Analyst — Defense Medical Readiness
Location: Falls Church, VA
Work Environment: Hybrid, 3-days onsite per week

Salary Range: $90,000 - $127,000
Knowesis is currently seeking an exceptional Strategic Policy Analyst to join our team and provide invaluable support to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Health Affairs, Health Readiness & Policy Oversight (OASW(HRP&O)), by researching, analyzing, developing, coordinating, and maintaining policy related to Defense medical logistics and medical supply chain readiness.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance and possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirements.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide medical logistics policy and analytical support to HRP&O, including strategic development, policy formulation, quality assurance, and research facilitation.

Research, draft, review, coordinate, and update DoW medical logistics policy, guidance, doctrine, standard operating procedures, decision memoranda, executive summaries, and related products.

Support the full policy lifecycle, including issue identification, research, drafting, staffing, stakeholder coordination, comment adjudication, revision, approval support, and maintenance of the administrative record.

Interpret higher-level statutes, regulations, directives, instructions, and national security guidance and translate them into clear, actionable policy or operational guidance.

Identify conflicting or overlapping policy requirements across DoW Components, Services, partner organizations, or interagency stakeholders and develop options for resolution.

Analyze medical logistics and medical supply chain issues affecting readiness, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, strategic supply requirements, and contingency support.

Support the development of joint medical logistics policy, doctrine, and strategic supply requirements for peacetime, wartime, and contingency operations.

Collect, analyze, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information for working groups, committees, Capabilities-Based Assessments, Integrated Product Teams, and senior-leader reviews.

Support coordination with U.S. federal and interagency partners on medical logistics planning, emergency response, supply chain resilience, and policy development.

Develop concise briefings, talking points, issue papers, decision-support products, and recommendations for senior government stakeholders.

Support responses to legislative, regulatory, and senior-leader inquiries and help ensure alignment with applicable compliance requirements.

Engage operational stakeholders and subject-matter experts to ensure proposed policy is practical, executable, and aligned with readiness requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, public policy, health administration, or a related field

Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in medical logistics, logistics policy, DoW health policy, supply chain policy, or a closely related area.

Demonstrated experience researching, analyzing, drafting, reviewing, or coordinating policy or other formal government products.

Working knowledge of DoW organizations, staffing processes, or federal policy environments.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work through incomplete information and ambiguous requirements.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to technical and senior-leader audiences.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate across organizations, manage competing stakeholder interests, and support resolution of conflicting positions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field.

Strong knowledge of medical materiel supply chains and applicable regulatory frameworks.

Military medical logistics experience or equivalent civilian experience.

Experience with medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or related medical supply chain domains.

Legislative or regulatory experience, including FDA or compliance-related work.

Experience developing CONOPS, playbooks, executive summaries, or other decision-support products.
