Overview
Satec Electrical Group is seeking a motivated, results-driven Generator Sales Representative to grow our generator sales division. This role offers flexible scheduling (full-time or part-time considered) — the majority of your earning potential comes from commission, giving you real upside tied to your own performance. We're not locking you into a rigid sales playbook: whether your strength is relationship-based selling, cold outreach, contractor and GC networking, or leveraging existing industry contacts, we want you to bring your own strategy and experience to the role. You'll be selling standby, portable, and commercial generator systems to residential, commercial, and property management clients, working alongside our licensed electrical team to close full installation packages.
Duties
- Identify and pursue new generator sales opportunities across residential, commercial, and multifamily/property management markets
- Build and manage your own pipeline using the approach that works best for you — networking, referrals, cold calling, site visits, or any combination
- Meet with prospective clients to assess power needs and recommend the right generator system for their situation
- Coordinate with our electrical team to scope installation requirements and provide accurate, competitive quotes
- Build relationships with property managers, general contractors, facility managers, and homeowners to generate repeat and referral business
- Manage the full sales cycle from first contact through signed contract
- Stay current on generator products, manufacturer offerings, and market pricing to provide informed recommendations
- Represent the company professionally at client meetings, site walkthroughs, and industry events
Qualifications
- Required: working knowledge of generators and/or the electrical industry (products, terminology, installation basics)
- Sales experience strongly preferred, ideally in generators, HVAC, electrical, home improvement, or a related field
- Self-starter who can build and manage a book of business with minimal oversight
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client visits
- Ability to work independently and develop your own sales strategy
