Night Dispatcher
Location: In-Office
Schedule: Midnight (12:00 AM) to 8:00 AM
Hours: 3-4 shifts per week
Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Night Dispatcher to join our team. This position is responsible for coordinating and managing truck movements during overnight hours, providing real-time location updates, and maintaining clear communication with customers to ensure efficient and timely service.
The ideal candidate is organized, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working independently during overnight shifts.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch and manage drivers and trucks throughout assigned shifts
- Monitor shipments and track truck locations in real time
- Provide accurate location and status updates to customers
- Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, delays, and route changes
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and service requests
- Maintain detailed dispatch records and notes
- Coordinate with operations and management to resolve issues as they arise
- Ensure all deliveries and pickups are progressing according to schedule
Qualifications
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dispatch/tracking software
- Previous dispatch, logistics, transportation, or customer service experience preferred, but not required
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
