In addition to our cutting-edge scientific achievements, we have established lasting ties with industrial partners and created several spin-off companies.
Research area or group: Document Analysis Group (DAG)
Description of project:
The AgriScienceFM initiative is a Horizon Europe project dedicated to advancing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in agricultural research and innovation through a consortium of eleven research institutes and universities. The project encompasses the development of three agriculture-related foundational models: Biological Material (G), Environmental (E), and, importantly, for this position, Management (M).
The scope of the Agricultural Management Foundational Model is to develop a foundational Large Language Model capable of incorporating document intelligence into its decision-making processes. This involves leveraging information from scientific reports, human expertise, and other types of information communicated through complex documentary sources, such as infographics, maps, and journals.
Context and Mission:
CVC is seeking a Research Engineer to collaborate on one of the group's projects, focused on the processing and exploitation of data from documentary collections related to agriculture.
The project is funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe Grant Agreement No. 101293777 (AgriScienceFM)

- Experience managing data infrastructures using containers (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies).
- Demonstrable experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Familiarity with agentic pipelines and GraphRAG architecture will be considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with distributed multimode training of LLMs will be considered an advantage.
- Fluency in English and effective communication skills.
Conditions:
- The position will be based at the Computer Vision Center (Campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona).
