The Sr Applications Engineer is responsible for delivering custom business solutions using the Microsoft technology stack. He/she/they will perform analysis, design and implementation of solutions that satisfy client’s needs. The individual will lead and coordinate projects from a technology perspective, following secure SDLC activities and standards that are consistent with client's best practices. The individual will drive the design and development of user interfaces, business objectives and overall infrastructure. This individual must be able to take high level directions, formulate a plan to achieve the goals and execute the plan.
Software applications are typically focused on the day-to-day business processes supporting legal and administrative staff. Job duties may include, but are not limited to research, evaluation, and recommendations of enabling technologies. Job responsibilities also include providing production support activities during non-business hours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Analyze, design, configure, develop, and implement intermediate-level technical solutions to meet business needs
- Partner with business owners, IT teams, and vendors to build integrations to/from external systems
- Provide Level 2/3 support — investigate and resolve operational/systemic issues using strong analytical skills
- Stay current on industry and technology trends relevant to the business
- Document and improve existing procedures in partnership with user departments
- Support application security design and documentation per compliance requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- 10+ years of software development experience, including 6+ years building secure, web-based applications in .NET (C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, Docker, MVC, SQL Server)
- Experience with ASP.NET MVC (v4+), .NET Core, WCF, RESTful services, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5/CSS3, ReactJS/AngularJS, responsive design, and Dependency Injection frameworks
- ORM experience (Entity Framework, Dapper)
- Container-based development experience
- CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar
- Cloud development/architecture experience with Azure
- Strong grasp of SOA, TDD, SOLID principles, and systems architecture; familiarity with Agile/iterative methodologies
- Requirement- and component-level estimation, plus database design/development skills
- Strong desire to stay current with emerging tech and best practices
- Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
- Self-motivated, organized, able to prioritize competing demands
Preferred:
- Experience in a law firm or global professional services environment
- Azure Developer Associate certification
