We are looking for an experienced Flood / Restoration Technician who can confidently respond to water-loss emergencies, assess affected areas, set up and monitor drying equipment, complete required documentation and work professionally in occupied homes, strata properties and commercial buildings.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with hands-on restoration experience who understands how a professional emergency restoration job should be handled from arrival through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to water damage and other emergency restoration calls
- Conduct site assessments and moisture inspections using moisture meters and other diagnostic equipment
- Perform water extraction and structural drying
- Set up, monitor and remove dehumidifiers, air movers, air scrubbers and other restoration equipment
- Take and record moisture readings and document drying progress
- Complete moisture maps, photographs, daily reports and required job documentation
- Perform selective demolition of drywall, flooring, insulation, cabinetry and other affected building materials when required
- Protect unaffected contents and building materials from further damage
- Assist with mould remediation, cleaning, deodorization and decontamination
- Work alongside project managers, demolition, contents, hazardous-material and repair teams
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, tenants, strata representatives, property managers and other trades
- Safely operate company vehicles
- Keep company vehicles, tools and equipment clean, organized and properly maintained
- Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians when required
- Follow company safety procedures and all applicable WorkSafeBC requirements
- Participate in the company's rotating after-hours/on-call schedule
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on restoration/flood mitigation experience
- Experience with water extraction and structural drying
- Understanding of moisture mapping, psychrometrics and drying principles
- Experience operating dehumidifiers, air movers, HEPA filtration devices and air scrubbers
- Valid BC driver's licence with an acceptable driver's abstract
- Comfortable driving cargo vans, pickup trucks and restoration service vehicles
- Able to safely lift, carry and position restoration equipment
- Able to work independently as well as part of a crew
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Reliable and able to respond to emergency situations
- Willing to work occasional overtime and participate in after-hours/on-call rotations

- IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT)
- Applied Structural Drying (ASD)
- Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT)
- Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT)
- Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT)
- First Aid certification
- Experience working on strata, commercial and insurance restoration projects
- Crew lead or supervisory experience
- Experience with asbestos, lead or other hazardous-material projects
- Additional restoration or construction certifications
