Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and automobiles, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals at each destination.
- Load and unload merchandise with proper handling techniques, including heavy lifting and merchandising tasks.
- Communicate clearly with customers to confirm deliveries, answer questions, and build rapport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and client communication records.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and sales goals.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or appropriate automobile transportation credentials.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving or retail store delivery roles.
- Strong math skills for pricing calculations and inventory management.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Organizational skills to manage routes efficiently and handle multiple deliveries daily.
- Prior experience in retail store environments or merchandising is a plus.
