We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Acrylic Dental Technician to join our expanding removable prosthetics team.
Role Summary
The Acrylic Dental Technician will be responsible for the end-to-end fabrication, processing, finishing, and repair of acrylic-based removable prosthetics—including full and partial dentures, nightguards, retainers, and implant-supported acrylic prostheses. The ideal candidate possesses strong material expertise, precise anatomical hand-carving skills, and an uncompromising commitment to quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Prosthetic Fabrication & Processing: Perform waxing, flasking, investing, packing, heat/cold curing, and deflasking for complete and partial acrylic dentures and nightguards.
- Contouring, Trimming & Polishing: Trim, anatomically contour, and high-shine polish acrylic baseplates and prosthetic teeth to achieve natural tissue aesthetics, smooth sulcus borders, and maximum patient comfort.
- Repairs, Relines & Re-bases: Execute hard and soft relines, repair fractured denture bases, perform tooth additions, and execute re-basing procedures efficiently.
- Articulator Setup & Occlusion: Mount master models using facebow transfers and bite registrations. Set up prosthetic teeth according to doctor prescriptions, shade specifications, and correct occlusal principles.
- Quality Inspection: Rigorously inspect finished prosthetics under magnification for smooth margins, structural integrity, absence of porosity, and exact prescription compliance before final delivery.
- Laboratory Maintenance & Safety: Operate and maintain bench lathes, pressure pots, curing units, micromotors, and sandblasters according to safety protocols and cleanliness standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education/Certification: Diploma or Formal Certification in Dental Technology / Dental Laboratory Technology (CDT preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on bench experience specializing in acrylic removable prosthetics within a commercial dental laboratory.
- Technical Knowledge: Mastery of heat-cure, cold-cure, self-curing, and light-cured acrylic resins, isolation separators, and investment materials.
- Anatomical Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of oral anatomy, tooth morphology, occlusal planes, and tissue clearance.
- Precision Skills: High degree of manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and an acute eye for detail.
- Language: Proficient command of English; ability to interpret doctor prescriptions and technical work orders accurately.
