The Cork facility is one of several Snap-on global engineering sites and employs over 90 development professionals.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, technical communications, information systems, or equivalent work experience.
Years of Experience:
- Extensive technical, content-development, diagnostic, or product-execution knowledge, usually acquired through 4-6+ years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of related experience.
Other Requirements:
- Project or program management experience; experience with automotive diagnostics, information products, CMS/workflow systems such as VDO, and work-management tools such as Azure DevOps preferred.
KEY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
Take a leadership role in assigned Content Engineering EBI information products and related diagnostic content deliverables. Lead planning, execution, validation, release readiness, and cross-functional issue resolution for CTM, Tips, FastTrack Intelligent Diagnostics, and related diagnostic content.
- Lead execution of assigned Content Engineering EBI information products, including CTM, Tips, FastTrack Intelligent Diagnostics, and related diagnostic content deliverables.
- Establish direction, priorities, schedules, and execution plans for assigned content deliverables in partnership with Product Management, Engineering, DBA, SQA, Field, Marketing, Localization, peer Product Development Managers, and content teams.
- Collaborate with other engineering facilities, peer PDMs, content teams, and outside professional service providers to maintain alignment, consistency, and delivery momentum.
- Follow global content standards and drive reuse, sharing, and adaptation of content across markets to improve consistency, reduce duplication, and accelerate delivery.
- Translate product, engineering, field, and customer needs into structured backlogs, authoring priorities, validation expectations, release plans, and issue-resolution actions.
- Direct preparation and review of documentation, SOPs, work instructions, training materials, authoring guidance, and quality records to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Lead or support CCT, defect triage, DevOps board usage, and release-readiness reviews.
- Lead and support RCI-style process improvements that reduce manual effort, eliminate waste, improve quality, standardize workflows, and increase efficiency across content development, authoring, validation, release readiness, and supporting tools.
- Provide practical technical guidance on diagnostic content, authoring strategies, VDO CMS workflows, oscilloscope/scope setup, OEM tool alignment, and emerging vehicle capabilities.
- Manage risk, scope, schedules, resources, training needs, travel justification, and budget implications for assigned programs.
- When required, directly supervise exempt and non-exempt employees and support onboarding, career development, performance input, and contributor coaching.
- Manage Snap-on intellectual property considerations for assigned work in accordance with corporate guidelines.
- Identify quality gaps, process inefficiencies, tooling limitations, and capability gaps versus OEM tools; drive corrective actions.
- Follow company policies, procedures, quality expectations, and release-governance practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
