Forklift Driver / Warehouse Laborer Job Summary

The Forklift Driver / Warehouse Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general warehouse support duties and operating forklift and material‑handling equipment to support production and shipping operations. This position contributes to a safe, organized, and OSHA‑compliant work environment and ensures materials are received, stored, staged, and delivered accurately and on time.

This role is classified as a safety‑sensitive position and requires adherence to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Essential Job Functions

Warehouse Laborer Responsibilities

- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse and production areas in accordance with OSHA and company guidelines

- Collect and dispose of trash from warehouse and production areas

- Collect, transport, and dispose of scrap metal from the production floor using approved methods and equipment

- Perform light cleaning duties using industrial cleaning equipment and approved materials

- Identify and report unsafe conditions, spills, or hazards to supervision immediately

Forklift Operator Responsibilities

- Safely operated forklifts and other powered industrial trucks in accordance with OSHA regulations and company training requirements

- Unload materials from incoming deliveries and transport them to designated storage or staging locations

- Use RF scanners to accurately receive, scan, and track incoming wire and material deliveries

- Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or quality concerns and report issues promptly

- Transport raw materials and supplies to production workstations to support continuous operations

- Ensure production machines and lines are stocked with required wire spools and materials

- Remove empty spools from production lines and stack them in designated areas

- Empty scrap wire dumpsters and return them to assigned locations

- Maintain proper material flow by stocking:

- Each production line with one (1) stack of ten (10) skids

- The strut area with tubes and one (1) stack of ten (10) skids

- Place boxes on Lines according to the hanger type being produced

- Move damaged skids to the designated area

- Empty all Trash dumpsters

- Ensure wire is moved from the parking lots to the work centers according RF scanner instructions and FIFO (First in-First out) directions.

- Conduct daily forklift and equipment inspections, complete required checklists, and report maintenance or safety concerns

- Ensure forklifts are left in safe operating condition at the end of each shift

- Serve as a backup forklift operator for other shifts or shipping functions as needed

- Follow all safety rules, company policies, and legal requirements at all times

Safety & Compliance Expectations

- Comply with OSHA regulations related to powered industrial trucks, material handling, and workplace safety

- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times

- Participate in required safety training, inspections, and audits

- Report accidents, injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately

- Maintain a clean and hazard‑free work area

Required Skills and Abilities

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

- Proficiency with or ability to learn industrial and warehouse equipment

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance standards

- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly during the shift

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and climb for extended periods

- Ability to safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment

- Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment

- Exposure to dust and latex inherent to the manufacturing process
