Job Summary: Responsible for establishing relationships with local social service agencies and striving to direct the homeless and needy to gain access to the programs available through those agencies. Additionally, responsible for providing supervision to the team by exhibiting an exemplary model of customer service, hospitality, and operational procedures. This role will also offer assistance to the Operations Manager in all facets of the program at the local level.
Identify those in need: the homeless and the areas they gravitate toward. Direct them to services and agencies to meet their needs. Establish respect to reduce the public stigma and to assist in the public perception of the homeless population.
Establish Relationships: with the city, county, and state agencies that are in place to respond to the needs of the homeless and neediest of your community.
Patrol the District: to locate and reach out to those in need as well as to direct those in public spaces to services or more suitable locations.
Application of Operating Model: Apply Block by Block standard concepts, processes, practices, and policies to daily operations to address local needs and concerns.
Customer Relations: Actively engage customer representatives and stakeholders to discuss local issues and to set a course for continual program evolution. Implements new local strategies to continually improve service delivery.
Observe and Report: Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to Safety Ambassadors. Articulate an accurate description of persons, vehicles, and other similar identifiers.
Hospitaltiy and Customer Service: Go out of your way to actively acknowledge pedestrians with a friendly greeting or identify visitors in order to provide directions, information, city information, or recommendations.
Professionalism: Must maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and overall Block by Block standards of expected professionalism.
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in computer usage and in Microsoft Office products.

Requirements:
Physical Abilities: Must have the physical capacity to continuously traverse during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen-minute breaks and one thirty-minute meal break).
Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
Communication: Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
