Manlift Operator
Job Purpose
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Manlift Operator to safely operate boom lifts, scissor lifts, articulated lifts, and other Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) in support of work-at-height activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for safe equipment operation, daily inspections, and compliance with UAE HSE requirements and site-specific safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate boom lifts, scissor lifts, articulated lifts, and other MEWPs safely and efficiently.
- Conduct daily pre-use inspections and functional checks before operating the equipment.
- Position and operate the MEWP safely to provide access to elevated work areas.
- Ensure the equipment is properly positioned, stable, and secure before elevating personnel.
- Follow instructions from supervisors, riggers, signalers, and other authorized personnel.
- Maintain clear communication with ground personnel during operations.
- Immediately report equipment defects, mechanical problems, unsafe conditions, or other hazards to the supervisor.
- Keep the equipment clean and in safe, operational condition.
- Follow all HSE requirements, PPE requirements, work-at-height procedures, and site safety rules.
- Comply with applicable UAE regulations and company/site-specific safety procedures.
- Assist with general ground duties when MEWP operation is not required.
- Stop work and report immediately if an unsafe condition is identified.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Manlift / MEWP Operator Certificate, such as IPAF, TUV, or equivalent UAE-approved certification.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating MEWPs; UAE/GCC experience is preferred.
- Practical experience operating boom lifts, scissor lifts, and/or articulated boom lifts.
- Good knowledge of safe working-at-height practices.
- Understanding of MEWP controls, safety systems, emergency procedures, and pre-use inspections.
- Ability to understand and follow safety instructions, method statements, and site procedures.
- Physically fit to perform operational and ground duties.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and HSE standards.
Preferred Skills
- UAE/GCC construction or industrial site experience.
- Valid work-at-height training/certification.
- Familiarity with site lifting and access procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
