- Collaborate closely with delivery teams, business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to understand requirements, define test scope, and ensure quality expectations are met.

- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated and exploratory tests across Dynamics 365 Customer Service, Power Pages, portal journeys, and Azure-integrated solutions.

- Build and maintain automation frameworks and test suites using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Spec Flow and programming language as C#.

- Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing, quality gates, and rapid feedback.

- Investigate test failures, manage defects through resolution and retesting, and communicate quality risks, dependencies, and release readiness.

- Contribute to test strategy, engineering standards, automation improvements, quality reporting, and maintenance of test documentation.

We are looking for an Automation Test Engineer who can take a requirement or user story, understand what needs to be tested, and apply the right mix of technical testing, automation and exploratory testing to give the team confidence in the quality of what is being delivered.

You should be comfortable using engineering standards, automation frameworks and CI/CD practices to make testing more efficient and repeatable. You will be expected to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, contribute to quality planning, and support the resolution of defects in a collaborative Agile delivery environment.

Depth in test automation, Dynamics 365/Power Platform delivery and CI/CD based quality assurance matters more to us than breadth across every testing tool. The right person will be hands-on, collaborative, quality-focused and comfortable working in a public sector delivery environment.

Must Have

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

- Proven experience in Agile delivery environments, working closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Test Engineers.

- Hands-on test automation experience using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar, with programming experience in C#,

- Knowledge of BDD practices and tools such as Spec Flow or Cucumber.

- Experience designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated test suites for enterprise applications, including Dynamics 365, CRM, or portal-based solutions.

- Strong understanding of test design and execution across functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, integration testing.

- Experience using Azure DevOps for test management, source control, CI/CD pipelines, reporting, and defect tracking.

- Ability to derive test scenarios from requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, while managing test data, environments, dependencies, and defects.

- Self-sufficient approach to delivering testing activities, producing clear test evidence, reporting outcomes, and supporting release readiness decisions.

Nice to Have

- Experience defining test scope, estimating effort, and selecting risk-based testing approaches.

- Experience building or enhancing automation frameworks and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with quality gates.

- Experience with API and integration testing using tools such as Postman, REST frameworks and hands on performance testing using Jmeter or load runner.

- Understanding of modern engineering practices including branching strategies, pull requests, peer reviews, accessibility testing and continuous quality improvement.

- Experience using GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development/testing tools to improve productivity.

- Certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, SAFe, ISTQB, Microsoft Power Platform or relevant automation/testing certifications.

We are delivering Dynamics 365 Customer Service solutions for a public sector client, extended with Power Pages, Power Automate and related Azure components.

The Automation Test Engineer will play an important role in helping the team deliver reliable, well-tested and maintainable solutions. You will develop and maintain technical test suites, use appropriate tooling and engineering approaches to design and execute tests, and support the team in identifying and reducing delivery risk.

You will work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Test Leads and client stakeholders to determine what needs to be tested, how it should be tested, and how test outcomes should be recorded, reported and used to improve quality.

You will take direction from the Test Lead and wider delivery leadership, but you will be expected to work independently on assigned test activities, challenge constructively where appropriate, and bring practical suggestions to improve test coverage, automation quality, continuous feedback and release confidence.

The role involves a significant element of working from home, but there will be periods where occasional travel and working on client sites is needed. The role must be UK based due to client IT and security restrictions.
