PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
ASI Wealth is looking for an experienced, independently operating Financial Adviser to join its team of financial planning professionals. The successful candidate will bring an established client base and a proven, sustainable practice, and will use the ASI Wealth platform — its technology, administration, compliance support, training and product access — to grow that practice further. This role is not intended to rebuild a practice from the ground up; candidates should already be operating successfully as advisers and joining ASI Wealth because of the growth opportunity the platform offers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY
- Provide holistic financial planning advice to clients across risk, investment, retirement and broader financial planning needs, in line with FAIS advice processes and record-of-advice requirements.
- Grow and manage an independent financial planning practice within the ASI Wealth environment, taking accountability for own performance, pipeline and client outcomes.
- Generate new business through an existing client base, personal and professional networks, referrals and other sustainable, compliant lead-generation channels.
- Service and retain an existing book of clients, maintaining strong client relationships and minimising lapses and clawbacks.
- Make full use of ASI Wealth's product range and open-architecture platform to select appropriate solutions for clients, rather than defaulting to a limited or proprietary product set.
- Maintain accurate, compliant client records and advice documentation using ASI Wealth's systems and processes.
- Keep up to date with regulatory, product and market developments relevant to financial planning.
- Contribute positively and collaboratively to the broader ASI Wealth team, sharing knowledge and supporting a constructive practice culture.
Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities in line with your capabilities and at the request of your Superior

- Has completed the regulatory supervision period and is able to operate independently as a financial adviser.
- A proven track record of actively providing financial planning advice, and of acquiring and servicing clients.
- An established and sustainable level of production. Candidates should be able to provide recent commission statements or similar evidence to demonstrate current production and the sustainability of their income.
- A demonstrated ability to generate their own business — through an existing client base, professional networks, referrals or other sustainable lead-generation channels — rather than relying on leads provided by the business.
- A reasonable client retention record, without a significant history of lapses, clawbacks or unresolved commission debt.
QUALIFICATIONS & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
- Successful completion of RE5.
- A recognised industry qualification that meets the FAIS Fit and Proper qualification requirements for operating as a financial adviser.
- Compliant Continuous Professional Development (CPD) record, in good standing with the relevant regulatory bodies.
- No adverse FAIS Fit and Proper, debarment or regulatory compliance history.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Sound working knowledge of risk, investments, retirement planning and general financial planning principles — this is a holistic financial planning role, not a purely product-sales function.
- Ability to construct and present financial plans that are appropriate, needs-based and properly documented in line with FAIS advice and disclosure requirements.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & FIT
- Operates within an independent financial planning environment offering greater product choice, balanced with accountability for managing one's own practice and performance.
- Comfortable using technology and willing to work within ASI Wealth's systems, tools and processes.
- Professional and client-focused, with a strong understanding of the importance of compliance and proper advice processes.
- Collaborative in style, and genuinely motivated to build a long-term financial planning practice — rather than seeking only a different commission structure or a place to book business.
