About the role
Join Orica and play a critical supervisory role in delivering safe, efficient, and world-class blasting services at our Masbate operations. As an On Bench Supervisor, you will lead a dedicated on-site team, oversee blasting activities, and ensure the safe operation of plant and ancillary equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on mining operations by coordinating explosive delivery services, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with Orica's SHES, Quality, and programs. You will work closely with customers and site stakeholders to deliver reliable blasting solutions that support production targets while prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility.
What you will be doing
Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Orica SHES, SHEC, and regulatory requirements.
Lead site operations, blasting activities, and equipment management while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, permit controls, and incident reporting to prevent accidents and near misses.
Supervise, coach, and develop site personnel through training, performance management, and capability building.
Manage inventory counts, stock reconciliations, and resource planning to support efficient site operations.
Ensure site readiness through effective housekeeping, preventative maintenance, and equipment reliability programs.
Coordinate daily work schedules, raw material requirements, and operational activities to meet customer needs.
Support budgeting, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering reliable service and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Lead audits, compliance activities, and corrective action plans while driving continuous improvement, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
What you will bring
Bacherlor's Degree in Mining Engineering
Experience in heavy industry, preferably within mining, explosives, or related operations environments.
Knowledge of Carriage of Dangerous Goods (CDG), Permit to Work systems, Clearance Authority processes, and Lock Out/Tag Out compliance.
Valid driver's licence with Generic Mining Induction and relevant site operational certifications (S1, S2, and S3 preferred).
Strong mechanical aptitude with exposure to auto electrical, fibre optic, hydraulic systems, and equipment troubleshooting.
Demonstrated leadership capability with experience in change management, operational compliance, and Tier 4 (Licence to Lead) or equivalent supervisory training.
