Optimal Air Solutions is a rapidly growing Houston area HVAC company looking for a motivated individual to join our Commercial Division as delivery driver / material handler!
We are looking for a candidate that is eager to learn and is not afraid to work in the summer heat. The right candidate will be organized, able to learn quickly, have a sense of urgency and work well on a team.
Primary Job Functions:
- Deliver HVAC equipment, fabricated ductwork, materials, and supplies to commercial job sites.
- Pick up materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors and manufacturers.
- Deliver emergency materials, equipment, and tools to active job sites to minimize project downtime.
- Load, unload, and secure materials to prevent damage during transport.
- Verify deliveries against packing slips, purchase orders, and delivery tickets.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance concerns.
- Assist with inventory control, warehouse organization, and housekeeping when not making deliveries.
- Safely operate pallet jacks, trailers, and other material handling equipment as authorized.
- Coordinate deliveries with the Fabrication Foreman, Project Managers, and Superintendents to meet project schedules.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable traffic laws.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on job sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to safely operate pickup trucks and trailers.
- Ability to read and understand packing slips, purchase orders, and delivery tickets.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Load and unload heavy materials throughout the day.
- Sit and drive for extended periods while maintaining safe vehicle operation.
Preferred qualifications:
- Fork lift certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- HVAC and/or commercial construction industry experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
