What you will do
In today’s hyper competitive market, enterprise product industry is being constantly challenged to iterate rapidly to deliver real business innovation while keeping commitment & costs under control. Our product landscape includes traditional (monolithic) products, Edge devices, Containerized apps, mobile apps and modern cloud-native products. In addition, we are wary of vendor lock-in and do not want their products to be trapped in a particular cloud provider. At Johnson Control, we have embarked on a path to change this paradigm by building a product platform to manage the development, testing, delivery, and management of all enterprise products. Our vision is to make it possible to deploy and manage end to end lifecycle of our products (legacy, edge devices, cloud native, Windows, Linux, mobility, security) on any infrastructure (virtual machines, containers, bare metal) across any cloud (public, private, hybrid). In this journey, we already have proven technology stack. We are looking for a NodeJS Technical Lead to successfully lead design, architecture, and implementation in all possible phases of different NodeJS based products. You should be holding strong technical expertise and experience in bringing to market leading software products in enterprise. You will be a hands-on technical leader working closely with your peers and development team members to deliver best of breed solutions to fulfill Johnson Controls vision.
How you will do it

A candidate for this position must have 4+ years of experience developing and delivering NodeJS based applications for solutions. They must have proven experience delivering several products to customers during their career.

They have experience leading teams that strive for excellent quality processes: coherent architectural design, automated test suites, peer code reviews, continuous integration and deployment.

The candidate requires in-depth technical and operational knowledge within area of responsibility. They are capable of “going deep” technically to make final design decisions and remove implementation roadblocks

They will have good knowledge of many technologies used widely in the industry – NodeJS, Webpack, Knockout JS, JavaScript etc. They should have familiarity with more niche technologies that start wider industry software trends, such as React or upcoming technologies.

They will regularly interact with R&D stakeholders, peer managers, and employees across functional teams.

The candidate will lead the development of application features from collaboration on requirements definition, feature design, coding, testing, and deployment to Level 3 support.

They will create career development programs for the team to ensure skills and performance of employees meet current and future needs.
What we look for
Primary Skills
-
Minimum 4+ year of hands-on experience in Testing automation.
-
Minimum 4 years of experience in Selenium/Appium and Cypress experience will be preferred.

Experience with JMeter, TestComplete
-
Languages: Proficiency in JavaScript and good to have experience in Java, Python.

Experience with RESTful Services, Docker, Jenkins, Git, npm is must.

Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming is required, good understanding about SOLID/KISS principles.

Understanding about Cloud technologies
-
Experience working with Agile SCRUM methodology.
Secondary Skills
-
Exposure to a Product Development lifecycle

Experience with performance and load testing tools like JMeter
What you will be responsible for
It is equally important that you should understand that what you are going to perform during this role:

Primary technical liaison with the stakeholders for all technical aspects including app architecture and integration requirements.

Defining the technical requirements for the implementation of the Edge/Device UI application.

Discussing with the stakeholder’s technical aspects of the solution, including the technology used, methodology followed, and devices selected.

Preparing technical documents, artifacts, work products and presentations for the stakeholders

Representing the technical solution requirements to all stakeholders

Active participation during solutions and estimation activities with the customer
