Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz is seeking an EMC Solutions Engineer supporting advanced Test & Measurement systems. As part of our EMC Business Development team, this role provides advanced technical support for complex EMC Test Systems including System instrumentation and our ELEKTRA automation software. Working with the EMC Business Development Managers (BDMs), the individual will help drive new business, support existing customers, drive ticket resolution, and work closely with field service, engineering, and customers to maximize system performance and customer satisfaction. This role will be based in Milpitas, CA or Seattle, WA. The position will require greater than 50% travel including some international travel to Germany. #LI-remote
Your tasks
- Work closely with the EMC BDM Team to help drive and grow our overall EMC Business including systems and instruments
- Expert resource around our EMC portfolio – Systems, instruments and software portfolio
- Contribute to the development of sales / marketing tools including white papers, application notes and demonstration guides
- Develop and execute complex demonstrations around our EMC solutions and systems
- Create and present technical content around products and solutions for EMC Testing, including presentations in the form of seminars / webinars for both internal and external customers
- Help develop and train field application resources to become more self-sufficient around discussing and demonstrating our EMC solutions
- Provide advanced technical support for complex EMC and RSE test systems
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis for hardware, software, and integrated systems
- Provide remote technical guidance to field personnel to reduce system downtime and unnecessary onsite visits
- Identify recurring product or system issues and recommend corrective actions and service improvements
- Participate in customer technical reviews and continuous service improvement initiatives

Your qualifications
- BSEE (or equivalent)
- Strong EMC and test equipment background is required
- An in-depth understanding of EMC standards and test methodologies – experience in setting up and running EMC test systems is preferred
- Knowledge and experience around the various EMC automation software tools
- Ability to create and present technical content around products and solutions for EMC Testing through webinars and live seminars
- Strong knowledge of RF fundamentals, EMC and system integration
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and integrated test systems
- Experience managing technical support cases using ticket management systems
- Excellent analytical, communication, and customer interface skills
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams – Sales, Systems, Services and Support
- Ability to travel domestically as required (greater than 50%) – Some international travel required

The total compensation for this position is $146K-$210K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
