As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will cover a critical area of Gemini’s style, tone, personality and quality, we call this area model behavior. You will work with a virtual team of contributors across Mountain View, New York, London, and Zurich, ensuring they can deliver on time for the next Gemini release. In this role, you will have a high tolerance for ambiguity inherent in AI research and operates at a fast pace. You will be a highly organized individual who thrives at managing complex stakeholder relationships and connecting teams across DeepMind to drive successful outcomes.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $300000 - $333000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

- Lead mid and post-training programs to align Gemini's style, tone, and behavior with the model specifications and taxonomy, scaling processes for consistent evaluations.

- Dive deep into technical details, including losses and behavior evaluations, ensuring they accurately measure targeted problems.

- Drive efficiency by streamlining execution, improving tooling, and connecting horizontally with other core modeling teams.

- Integrate model behavior into launch processes to ensure consistent and accurate Gemini performance.

- Build consensus and influence outcomes across various teams and stakeholders without relying on direct authority while managing high-visibility executive reviews, providing clear program visibility and ensuring smooth execution.
