Job Summary
We are looking for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our team to work on some of the UK and Ireland’s most exciting building projects across a range of sectors. As an esc Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will be working with and learning from our Chartered (RICS) Quantity Surveyors. Responsibilities
- Assist Chartered Quantity Surveyors in the delivery of cost consultancy services across a range of construction projects
- Support the preparation of cost estimates, cost plans, tender documentation and contract documents
- Assist with procurement activities, tender evaluations and post-tender reporting.
- Support the administration of construction contracts, including NEC contracts, under the guidance of senior team members
- Assist in the preparation of valuations, cost reports, variation assessments and final accounts
- Attend project meetings and collaborate with clients, consultants and contractors to gain an understanding of project requirements and risks
- Contribute to project planning and cost management activities from feasibility through to construction and project completion
- Assist with site visits, progress monitoring and the collection of project information.
- Maintain accurate project records and support the preparation of reports and presentations
- Participate in continuous professional development and work towards achieving
- Chartered (RICS) status.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in Quantity Surveying and working towards professional chartership (RICS)
- Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement methods, with an awareness of NEC contracts being advantageous
- Demonstrable ability to work effectively as part of a team through academic, placement, work or extra-curricular experience

- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Confident presentation and listening skills, with a willingness to learn and develop client-facing experience
- Ability to think critically and apply a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Organised and capable of managing workload effectively to meet project deadlines
- Demonstrates initiative, enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards learning and professional development
- Resilient, adaptable and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team-working skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and project stakeholders
- Understanding of construction methods, building technology and the wider construction industry
- Commercial awareness and an interest in the financial management of construction projects
- Full driving licence would be beneficial
