We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance. That’s waiting for you at Sainsbury’s. Everything our Nectar team does is powered and fuelled by data — and by great relationships with some of the UK’s favourite brands. The Nectar 360 team focuses on developing loyalty programmes, turning amazing data into something that makes a difference, traditional media and digital. It’s like an agency-within-a-retailer, and retail media is crucial. The culture might not be what you expect either, because there’s no set-up quite like this one. The team is a real priority because it’s connected to everything the business does and drives profitability. It’s where you can take risks, learn from them and be recognised.

About the team

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Nectar360 Digital team, working in one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic areas of Sainsbury’s. The team brings together digital, client services, planning, data and analytics, and retail consultancy expertise to create customer-centred activity for suppliers across Sainsbury’s digital platforms. You will work alongside colleagues from across Sainsbury’s and Nectar360, as well as some of the world’s largest food and FMCG suppliers, helping to deliver an exceptional digital experience for customers while supporting shared commercial ambitions.

More about the role

As our eCommerce Senior Client Manager, you will take ownership of supplier media and activation across the relevant Sainsbury’s digital platforms for the categories within your business unit. Working collaboratively with suppliers, trading colleagues and teams across Nectar360, you will build a clear understanding of client objectives, activation plans and key performance indicators. You will use this insight to recommend and deliver effective activity across Sainsbury’s Online, ensuring that investment supports both supplier priorities and Sainsbury’s wider digital strategy.

Commercial delivery will be central to your role. You will create revenue strategies for clients and brands, track supplier investment against agreed commitments, and provide the eCommerce Client Director with regular updates on client, project and revenue performance. You will also partner with optimisation teams to analyse results, identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen future activity. Alongside managing senior client relationships, you will directly line manage two colleagues, supporting their delivery, development and ability to provide an excellent service to clients and internal stakeholders.

More about you

You will bring experience of managing client relationships and translating commercial or organisational strategies into practical plans. You can take ownership of projects, balance competing priorities and communicate clearly with stakeholders through presentations, recommendations and regular performance updates. Experience gained within retail, FMCG, eCommerce or a comparable fast-moving client environment would support your success in this role.

You will be comfortable using performance, revenue and customer information to inform decisions, identify risks and spot opportunities. You can negotiate constructively when stakeholders have different priorities, adapt your communication style to your audience and build the trust needed to move plans forward. An understanding of programmatic retail media platforms, such as CitrusAd or Amazon Advertising, or experience working with an online retailer would be beneficial but is not essential.

Essential criteria

- Demonstrable experience of owning client or supplier relationships and translating objectives into deliverable commercial or activation plans.

- Proven ability to create, manage and report against revenue, investment or commercially focused plans.

- Demonstrable experience of delivering projects to agreed deadlines while managing competing priorities and stakeholders.

- Proven ability to analyse numerical or performance information and use findings to recommend improvements.

- Demonstrable experience of line managing colleagues, including setting priorities, supporting delivery and providing development-focused feedback.
