Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients. This position requires strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care, particularly in an acute care setting.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and medication management.
- Perform inventory management tasks, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring medication supplies.
- Educate patients on proper inhalation techniques for prescribed medications.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance pharmacy skills.
Requirements
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy or acute care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration processes.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in medication dispensing.
