SharePoint /.NET / Agentic AI Developer

Location: Vancouver, BC — Hybrid
Company: Spot Solutions
Employment: Full-time

If you can build custom software and build serious SharePoint solutions, we want to talk.

Spot Solutions builds software that builds businesses.

Our projects range from custom C#/.NET applications and APIs to SharePoint and Microsoft 365 migrations, development and optimization. We're looking for a developer who is genuinely comfortable doing both.

This isn't a .NET job with some SharePoint on the side, or a SharePoint job with some .NET on the side. We need someone who can move between the two.

One project might involve building a custom business web application with a secure database and integration with external enterprise systems. The next might involve migrating a client's SharePoint environment from on-premises to SharePoint Online, restructuring thousands of documents and metadata, or converting a legacy SharePoint workflow into Power Apps and Power Automate.

That's the kind of variety we're looking for.

We use AI differently:

We've incorporated Agentic AI development techniques deeply into our development process and have found that they can allow us to deliver software twice as fast as traditional approaches.

But we're not interested in AI for the sake of AI.

We use tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio and VS Code to help with software architecture, coding, testing, legacy-system analysis and deployment.

We're looking for developers who understand that AI is a powerful development partner — not a replacement for understanding the software you're building.

Experience with Agentic AI is a major asset. Strong development fundamentals and curiosity are essential.

We're also interested in how these techniques can be applied to the Microsoft 365 world, where the tools and approaches are still evolving.

What you'll do:

Depending on the project, you may:

- Build custom C#/.NET web applications and APIs, architect efficient object models and relational databases, analyze legacy applications and modernize them

- Design and develop SharePoint Online solutions; including migration of SharePoint on-premises and network file shares to SharePoint Online; work with SharePoint lists, libraries, metadata, content types, permissions, governance and site pages; modernize classic SharePoint sites and legacy SharePoint processes; convert older SharePoint workflows into Power Apps and Power Automate

- Use Agentic AI to accelerate development, migration analysis, testing and automation

- Work with clients and senior developers to turn business requirements into practical solutions

What we're looking for

You need genuine experience in both software development and SharePoint.

Software development:

- Strong C# / .NET experience

- Web applications and APIs

- SQL and relational databases, as well as Dataverse and Azure

- JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML, CSS and JSON

- Software architecture, security and maintainability

- Git and modern development workflows

- Visual Studio and/or VS Code

SharePoint / Microsoft 365:

- Substantial hands-on SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint on-premises experience

- SharePoint architecture and information architecture

- Lists, libraries, metadata, content types, permissions and governance

- SharePoint migrations using native SharePoint migration tools as well as third-party tools like ShareGate

- Write PowerShell to automate migration, administration and metadata optimization

- Understand classic and modern SharePoint and how to migrate

- Legacy workflow modernization and Power Apps / Power Automate

- Develop with SPFx, Microsoft Graph and SharePoint APIs

You don't need to be an expert in every item. But both sides of the skill set are important.

We're looking for someone who can write serious custom software and understands SharePoint deeply enough to design, develop, migrate and optimize real-world SharePoint environments.

The kind of developer we're looking for

You might be a great fit if you:

- Enjoy moving between different technologies and different client problems

- Can determine when a problem calls for custom code, SharePoint, Power Platform — or some combination

- Understand that migrating SharePoint isn't simply copying files

- Can look at a legacy system and figure out what it is actually doing

- Take pride in clean, maintainable software

- Are curious about Agentic AI and how it can make developers dramatically more productive

- Know when AI-generated code needs to be questioned, tested or rewritten

- Communicate well with both technical and non-technical people

- Enjoy learning and solving problems you've never encountered before

- Care more about solving the business problem than using the trendiest technology
