Job Summary

Responsibilities

- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging and radiology diagnostics

- Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff

- Conduct laboratory work including phlebotomy, sample collection, and processing to support diagnostic testing

- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following veterinary protocols and aseptic techniques

- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, manage IV insertion, vascular access, and anesthesia monitoring equipment

- Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary software and document all procedures thoroughly

- Support emergency medicine efforts by providing critical care, animal husbandry, and assisting in intensive care situations

Qualifications

- Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy

- Kennel experience along with dog handling skills to manage various animal temperaments effectively

- Knowledge of dental terminology and experience assisting with dental procedures is preferred

- Hands-on experience with laboratory work, diagnostic radiology including X-ray procedures, and veterinary anesthesia monitoring

- Ability to perform IV insertion, animal catheterization, and venipuncture with precision and confidence

- Familiarity with veterinary surgical assistance, medical equipment operation, and aseptic techniques

- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; ability to explain procedures clearly to pet owners
