Business Development Manager
Company: Humana Ltd.
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Work location: Remote
About us
Humana Ltd. is a growing marketing agency based in the heart of Doncaster, providing B2B marketing services to clients around the world. We’re looking for Business Development Managers who can win new business, support our customers and build lasting client relationships.
The role
This position combines new business development, ongoing client service and retention. Securing a contract is the beginning of the relationship, not the end of your involvement.
You’ll work with warm leads generated through our website and trusted partners, speaking with prospective customers who have already expressed an interest in our services. By understanding their business objectives, you’ll recommend suitable marketing solutions and manage opportunities from initial enquiry through to a signed agreement.
Our creative team will support you in preparing tailored quotes and proposals. You’ll lead sales conversations, present recommendations, answer questions and follow up consistently.
Client service and retention
Looking after existing clients is a core part of this role. You’ll remain involved throughout the customer relationship, providing in-life service where needed and working closely with our delivery teams to ensure clients feel supported.
This includes maintaining contact, responding to queries, understanding changing business needs and coordinating with colleagues to address concerns. You’ll take ownership of following up on issues, keeping customers informed and ensuring agreed actions are followed through.
You’ll also identify potential reasons a customer might leave, address dissatisfaction early and support renewal conversations before contracts end. Where appropriate, you’ll recommend additional services that genuinely benefit the client.
We’re looking for someone who places as much importance on client satisfaction and retention/account growth as they do on securing new business.
About you
You’ll be a confident communicator with a professional phone manner, a consultative approach to sales and a genuine commitment to customer service. You should be comfortable listening to feedback, handling difficult conversations constructively and building trust over time.
Strong organisation is essential. You’ll need to balance new enquiries with existing client needs, keep accurate records and follow up reliably without being prompted.
Previous experience in sales or business development is preferred. Account management, customer service or retention experience would be particularly valuable, although we also welcome candidates who demonstrate strong potential, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Bonus structure
You’ll earn a bonus of 4% of the total contracted revenue for each deal you secure, calculated across the customer’s full contract term, rather than just their first monthly payment.
For example, if a customer signs a 12-month contract at £1,000 per month, the total contracted revenue is £12,000, earning you a £480 bonus for that particular sale.
What we offer
- Ongoing support and development to help you perform in your role.
- Opportunities for career progression as the business grows.
- Standard holiday entitlement and a company pension.
- No on-site work required. This is a fully remote position.
How to apply
Apply with your CV and a brief introduction explaining what you would bring to the role. We’d particularly like to hear about your experience winning business, supporting customers or retaining client relationships.
