Position Overview
Cape Town Cruises is seeking a professional, energetic, and detail-oriented Front of House & Stock Controller to join our team.
This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, managing daily front-of-house operations, controlling stock and inventory, and ensuring the smooth execution of all scheduled cruises and private charters.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for guests and trade partners while maintaining accurate stock control and supporting operational excellence across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House Duties
- Welcome and assist guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
- Process cruise and charter check-ins using company booking systems.
- Verify guest manifests and ensure all passenger information is accurate.
- Handle guest enquiries, bookings, amendments, and cancellations.
- Assist with ticket sales and upselling of cruise experiences.
- Coordinate boarding procedures with Captains and Crew.
- Ensure guests receive a luxury, five-star experience from arrival to departure.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
- Answer incoming calls, WhatsApp messages, and emails promptly and professionally.
- Assist with daily administration and reporting requirements.
- Ensure all guest waivers and required documentation are completed.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate where necessary.
- Compleat cash up reports daily
- Selling Charters, ability to earn commission.
Stock Control Duties
- Manage all beverage, merchandise, catering, and operational stock.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts.
- Receive and verify stock deliveries against supplier invoices.
- Capture stock movements accurately within company systems.
- Monitor stock levels and advise management of reorder requirements.
- Investigate stock variances and report discrepancies.
- Maintain organized stockrooms and storage areas.
- Ensure stock is rotated correctly and stored according to company standards.
- Work closely with suppliers and management regarding stock requirements.
- Assist with monthly stock takes and financial audits.
- Monitor wastage and implement controls to minimize losses.
Operational Support
- Assist with cruise preparation and turnaround between departures.
- Support Captains and Crew with operational requirements when needed.
- Ensure all vessels are stocked according to company standards before departure.
- Assist with event and private charter preparation.
- Maintain compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and operational policies.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 2 years' experience in hospitality, tourism, events, retail, or customer service.
- Previous stock control or inventory management experience.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional appearance and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work weekends, public holidays, and peak tourism periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Advantageous
- Experience within the tourism, marine, hospitality, or luxury travel industry.
- Experience with booking and reservation systems, Fair Harbour,
- Knowledge of stock management systems. Lightspeed.
- Cash handling and point-of-sale experience.

Pay: R12 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month
